1. THIS PRACTICE OF LAW IS LIKE A BROAD UMBRELLA.
If your client owns a juice shop, it does not mean that they only deal with juices. You have to know all of the regulations that your client must meet in different areas of law. You have to have a good understanding of other areas of laws such as Real Estate, Labor & Employment, & Insurance.
2. FOCUS ON THE CORE CLASSES DURING SCHOOL.
Focusing on the core classes such as Property Law will give you a good grasp of understanding on how business structure really works. Especially in this practice, that is the primary focus.
3. UNDERSTANDING YOUR CLIENTS.
When handling transactions, the goal is to meet the clients need & not hinder the process. It’s better to be respectful and direct than to be overly aggressive and rude. It’s a small community and you will catch more flys with honey than with vinegar.
4. YOU ARE MORE THAN JUST YOUR CLIENT'S ATTORNEY.
Your clients are just like you and me. When a situation arises, it’s not just as simple as fixing the contract and sending it off. You have to be able to handle highly charge situations.
5. ORGANIZATION IS KEY.
Be very organized. Your clients won’t just have a single project at the time, they will have multiple projects simultaneously. Having a checklist or a task organization system will manage your projects and stress.
